With the 5th spot in the New York Mets pitching rotation in competition between El Duque and Mike Pelfrey, I'd like to cast my cosmic vote for earnest Capricorn, Mike Pelfrey. Born January 14, 1984 in Wichita, Kansas Mike is serious, disciplined, and quietly ambitious. Driven to prove himself, his work, position in the world, and contributions to society are very important. Capricorns like Mike will persevere through enormous hardship and frustration in order to reach a goal. Like their Mountain Goat archetype, slowly but surely they climb to the top. Capricorns have a thoughtful, quiet, and self-contained disposition, always seem to be in control, and are capable, efficient, and strong. Highly conscientious, even as a child Capricorn's possess a maturity, soberness, and worldly wisdom.
Basically a pragmatic realist, Mike has an innate shrewdness and is detached and objective. Careful and conservative, he plays by the rules.
Subtle, understated, quiet, Mike's a modest person and sometimes overly self-critical. Strong points are depth and thoroughness, patience, tenacity, and faithfulness. Challenges are a tendency to be rigid and inflexible, and too serious.

Disciplined and responsible Capricorn Mike said it best himself after a successful Grapefruit outing in the Mets first exhibition game, "I’ve got to start pitching well, might as well start at the beginning." He also noted that he felt better, all good omens for the Mets and Mike’s season ahead.
Mercury, the planet of communication is retrograde October 12-November 2, 2007. During this cycle, there are delays in communications and more misunderstandings than usual. Mercury also rules the mind, mental processes, and travel. While it's a fruitful time to rethink and reassess, it's not the best time to negotitate contracts.
Mars, planet of energy, assertion and aggression is in the sign of Cancer currently, firing up all Crabs. In an interesting cosmic coincidence, Joe Torre, Brain Cashman and George Steinbrenner are all born under the sign of Cancer, making them even more emotionally sensitive and cautious during this time.

Curious about what All Star share your sun sign, and the do's and dont's of Mercury Retrograde? Mercury is the planet of communication and from July 4-28 it's crucial to doublecheck all communications and travel plans and allow extra time for delays.
The trading deadline is July 31 so it will be interesting to see what trades are made during this time, as due diligence takes on new meaning!

How interesting that A's Manager Ken Macha was Re-hired Oct. 13, 2005. The New Moon eclipse of Oct. 3, 2005, aspected his sun in Libra, (born Sept. 29, 1950, Wilkinsburg, PA) and negotitations broke down shortly thereafter, on Oct. 5, as fiery Aries (March 29) GM Bily Beane was not in the spirit of compromise, as the eclipse aspected his chart by opposition.
They re-visited and re-thought, and now Macha is back at the helm.
Mars also rules surgery and its not recommeneded to have elective surgery when Mars is retrograde. Mars started retrograde motion Oct 2, 2005 and will be retorgrade till Dec 10, 2005, leaving its shadow point Feb 3, 2006.
Pitchers having already had surgery during this inauspicious cycle include A's Rich Harden and Mets Braden Looper.
Approximately when pitchers report for spring training in mid- Febuary..........lets hope things to not have to be "Re-done".
